Spectacle Finale

With a lot of laughs and a few tears we celebrated the time we have spent together in France with a farewell show. All of our students participated as our host families laughed and at the end we began the difficult process of saying our goodbyes.

Le Spectacle

We've spent several of the past days preparing for tonight's finale. We are all in shock that this month has gone by so quickly but are looking forward to celebrating tonight with all of our host families together.

Tubing

On Monday the Saint Laurent group took a break decided to live on the wild side for the afternoon. Students went tubing in triplets out into the Mediterranean sea.

Chez le coiffeur

On Friday a few of our students decided to get a Cote D'Azur hairstyle at a local salon.

Cannes/Juan les Pins

On Saturday our group travelled to Cannes and Saint Juan les Pins for a day of shopping and music. In the afternoon we walked around the star studded boardwalk of Cannes and did some shopping on the Rue D'Antibes. In the evening we travelled to Juan les Pins for it's 50th anniversary Jazz Concert. We were treated to the mad drum skill of French drummer Katche and American bassist Marcus Miller.

Antibes

On Thursday, after our morning classes, our group travelled to Antibes to have a swim at their 3 pools. There is one indoor, one outdoor and a diving pool as well. A few of our guys were brave enough to follow the pool dress code and wear a more european style swim suit.

Roller

On Tuesday the Saint Laurent group went on a roller-blading adventure. Starting out at the east end of the Nice beaches and heading west towards the airport, the group took 90 minutes to get there and with the help of Thomas only 40 minutes to get back.

Eze

After we returned to France for a tour of the ancient town of Eze. We started at the perfumerie Fragonard where students were given the chance to see the perfume making process and test their skills as a professional nez. Afterwards several students climbing the narrow winding streets of the village to visit the old town at the top. The views there are truly amazing as you can see all the way form Antibes in the west to Italy in the east.

Monaco

On Sunday we left France for the first time during our trip to visit the principality of Monaco. We started out visit with a tour of the Prince’s palace. Afterwards we had lunch in town and ended our tour with some time in the Oceanographic museum.

Saint-Laurent 2010

Things are off and running with the Saint Laurent program. Students are aclimating to the new culture and all of the challenges that come with being away from home.

The group is well into their first week and already learning a great deal of French. Emilie and Valerie are very impressed with the student's French comprehension and are excited to help make them even better

Host family life has already given the students the opportunity to experience French life...afternoons on the beach, long late dinners and the excitement of the world cup.

We have a couple of exciting excursions coming up over the next few weekends and look forward to exploring some of the quaint beach towns along the western Riviera.
